October 30, 200322 yr Am I lost? I just took off from KIND (FS2004 or FS9, whichever you prefer), Indianapolis Int'l, and did some local flying. First, I couldn't find IMS, Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Then I flew over downtown and couldn't find the Hoosier Dome. Do I need to adjust my scenery settings? I have done a good deal of local flying at other cities and so far have found all other stadiums. IMS is a strong visual cue for approaches to Kind (R-22 R & L), not to mention it's size and fame.I have my scenery densities set pretty high (have 2.8Mhz IV, Radeon 9200, and 512Mb). Am I just missing these, or are they just not there.Frank P

October 30, 200322 yr Bob, Still learning the forum's operations. Have not learned searches yet. Thanks for the reply. The thread you started previously is awesome in describing the problem. In addition to all that you mentioned, the White River needs to be there as well. This is really odd. I am a very long time flight sim enthusiast. Had the original FS1.0 floppy version with the separate airspace and simulation for dogfighting with an old bi-plane. When Microsoft (or was it subLogic) came out with Scenery Sets, the very first one had the Speedway. So where is it now? The Speedway is a key visual cue for approaches to several airports. I did part of my growing up in Indianapolis, on the northeast side, just off of RT 100 (Shadeland Ave). I-465 was built while I lived there. Lived just off of Shadeland and 65th St. in a subdivision named Avalon Hills. Both my wife and I are IU alumnae (1970).Sincerely,Frank P
October 30, 200322 yr Author Great to hear from a fellow Hoosier. I lived all my adult life in Anderson, and am quite familiar with Avalon Hills. I worked near 96th and Hague Road during the last past of my working days. Our daughter lives in Bloomington. And I still have season tickets to the Colts, in row 1, right behind the Colts bench. Needless to say I don't want to give those up even though I live in Florida. When FS2004 came out, I surely thought there would be improvements to what I consider to be major cities. And since I have ties to Indianapolis, I wanted to fly in that area and feel like I was over the city. What a disappointment, as you well know. In fact, one could only conclude that it is very poorly done. An insult, really, when compared to the work they've done on some other lesser known areas. As you can see from the response and readership of that previous post, I struck a note with others that felt the same way about certain major areas and things in there lives. A few didn't "get it", but thats OK.The point was to the Microsoft team (who reads this forum), your job among other things are alot about sales. And people will buy a product when they hear that they can fly around the area where they live, etc., and experience close to the real thing.I notice the other thread had picked up again (after my link in your thread), from people who more of less do "get it".Bob (Lecanto, Fl)AMD, Athlon XP, 1800+MSI, K7T266 XP ProPC 2100 DDR, 1024 MBXP, Home Edition Elsa GLadiac 920, GF3/64Mb andPNY, Verto nVidia TNT 2-M64/32WD, 100 MB, 7200, Ultra 100Sound Blaster, Audigy MP3+CH Prod, VPP Yoke - Sound CardCH Prod, Pedals - Sound Card
