Sound & Graphics Issue with 2004

Featured Replies

Greetings,Recently when flying any aircraft or from any airport, the sound quits on me and the framerates go down to 0 or 1 for a period of time. The sound never returns but I am able to fly around and switch aircraft and airports. It tends to happen when switching views and it happens within the first 5-10 minutes of being in the sim.Interesting to note that it effects my entire system's sound. I no longer have ANY sound in Windows. Restarting the Sim doesn't fix it. I actually have to reboot entirely to get sound back. Thanks to all for your assistance!

Hello,Did you try "dxdiag"?Start/run/dxdiag (ok)There is a sound test availableHope it helps

Thanks for your reply.I ran the DX9b tests and the sound portion failed after the sound locked up and passed after rebooting and getting my sound back. The problem still is happening.Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi,I have seen a number of people state that they have had problems with this sound card. I believe most people solved the problem after installing the very latest driver for it. I do not know what the version/date is for the latest version of the driver. But it may be helpful for you to list it here so that other people can see what driver you are using for this card. Another thing you can do to try to help solve the problem is to turn down the hardware acceleration slider on the Sound Tab in DxDiag.Regards,Jim
