Rudder error with Logitec Wingman Extreme 3D

Featured Replies

I have the Logitec Wingman Extreme 3D joystick. I have a problem with the rudder facility on the joystick. It is hard to properly calibrate and does not usually opperate properly. Does anyone have the same joystick, problem, or any solution for my problem??

The bad news is that I have always had the same problem; it tends to pull to one side and won't calibrate centrally. I've played with Wingman settings, null zones, sensitivity and FSUIPC, never really cracked it. But I got pretty close. Keep trying. The answer in my case? Pedals. Lock the thing (you can) and get yourself a pair of rudder pedals for Christmas. Not only will that solve the problem but will greatly enhance your simming enjoyment (yuk ... sounds like an ad for a sofa).Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Well I've had a similar problem once. After I had unplugged the joystick, the calibration got messed up. I re-calibrated it in Windows, and I haven't had the problem since. Maybe you could try it with/without the USB adapter, and see if it gets any better. -Daniel

I also had this problem. And like Mark, I tried everything under the sun to help it. I got pretty close, but I had to settle for a slight pull to the left. Keeping the sticks drivers updated and constantly calibrating it helped the most. Now I use the Logitech Freedom cordless. I'll never go back to the old one unless I have to.KJhttp://fsgateway.com/frank/fs9paibeta.jpg

Get rid of that wingman..... I've had two and they both have the same problem. The rudder pot wears out really quickly. I had one go south on me after only 3 months. I now have a Saitek Cyborge 3D Gold USB stick that was the same price as the wingman and I've had this stick for over a year and nary a problem with it.Brian

This has to be one of the best posts of the past couple of weeks, cos I too have had and still have this problem. At first i just thought it was windsheer at runway level then I thought it was torque, but came to the realisation that its the damn stick.I have the latest drivers from Logitech but I think you all have hit the nail on the head especially the post that says get rid of the stick. which is a pity really cos my hand fits in it really well.I think a new stick will be on my Christmas list.Wycliffe
