I just want to make sure I don't waste my money and get heartbroken over thinking I will be able to finally run FSX and then it doesnt work. People have said that this card doesnt work with clouds and cripples the computer into low FPS. Can Anyone verify this? Will These Specs run FSX Well or am I wasting my time? Thanks So Much for taking the time to read!

That system is old. The i7 965 is outdated and so is that video card. I recommend getting the new sandy bridge processor range, with a nvidia GTX570 graphics card. That's going to run FSX a lot better than your setup. I recommend the i7 2600k processor, with a Asus or Gigabyte 1155 socket motherboard. Add 8GB DDR3-1600Mhz low latency ram, plus a GTX570 will give you a great system. Also, that case is way to small, get something like the antec 902/1200 or coolermaster HAF 932/ HAF X.

To be honest I dont know to much about computers and hardware, I just want to be able to run FSX. I have researched the components on that computer and they are still ranked very high. What do you mean those components are old? Im sure they arent the latest and greatest but I am just looking for a stable platform to run FSX well. Look here. http://www.tomshardw...-x4,2791-6.html This website rates that processer at the top of the list? and for the Graphics card this site lists the Radeon HD 4870X2 at the top of the list http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-recommendation-upgrade,2803-7.html Back to my original point. Will The above setup run FSX Well? I would be buying it used off of craigslist for 1000. Is that considered a good deal?

The hardware is outdated and replaced. 4 series ATI cards have been on the go since 2006/7, and that 965 is 2008. You would be better and cheaper to buy the new sandy bridge processors. Keep your eyes on www.ibuypower.com and www.cyberpower.com. In the next few weeks, they will be releasing pre-built, fully customizable sandy bridge PCs, which will be cheaper new than that other second hand one. That PC has several faults. RAM is slow, you need 1600MHz minimum for FSXMotherboard is old, meaning chance of the computer dying is higher.Power Supply is too low. Should be minimum 800W or 750W gold rated. ATI cards of that era had texture issues within FSX. Needed severe tweaking to set it right.
