Small FS tweak for low end machines

Featured Replies

Today while being kept inside by all the rain we have been experiencing here in Chicago and NFL Sunday, I decided to do some tinkering with FS2004 to try to make it run a little smoother. One of the things I noticed after about 20 minutes was that on my fairly low-end machine the wing textures on most add-on aircraft kill my frame rates. I had a number of aircraft stored on my machine that where useless to me because I could not fly them. Whenever I would try to fly these aircraft my FS2004 would turn into a slide show. One of the aircraft was a beautifully done iFDG 767-300 done in the Ansett Australia livery. This is the Aircraft I used in my so-called experiment. The first thing I did was removing all the textures from the aircraft
