Delta/Air France Virtual Dispatch passes 10,000 Flights

ROSWELL, GA -- Since the initial development of our Dispatch system in late 2007, Delta Virtual Airlines and Air France Virtual Airlines have logged over 10,000 flights using this industry-leading flight planning system.Live Dispatch and ACARS flight reporting is a feature that many virtual airlines claim to offer, but almost none have the same secure, custom network protocol based system that Delta Virtual and Air France Virtual have had since 2004. Rather than kludgey HTTP-based systems, the DVA/AFV ACARS systems relies on a sophisticated custom XML protocol and multi-threaded server that allows for custom Windows clients such as our Dispatcher software to connect to our private network and communicate directly with pilots using our ACARS software.Because Delta Virtual is the world's largest virtual airline with flight data stretching back a decade, our databases contain a wealth of information that our Dispatch system makes available to Delta Virtual and Air France Virtual pilots, such as full North American approach, ground and terminal procedure charts, VOR/NDB frequencies and airport data. Additionally, since our ACARS software has 10hz flight recording frequency (unlike some other software that can record as low as 0.005Hz) our database has runway usage statistics for worldwide airports based on over a quarter-million flights.When combined with hourly METAR downloads from NOAA, 5-minute radar imagery from The Weather Channel and a commercial data feed from FlightAware, this allows our dispatch system to provide flight planning unmatched by any other solution. Flight routes are generated by a cascading algorithm starting with pre-planned dispatch routes, real-world routes from FlightAware and finally saved route data from previous flights flown by Delta Virtual and Air France Virtual pilots. Departure and Arrival runways are calculated by neural network technology from our 300,000+ flights combined with wind speeds.This is available via live dispatchers who are online portions of almost every day, or via an automated system.
