Organizing FSX

Featured Replies

I purchased a computer last year for simming. I installed FSX and many, many add-ons. These add-ons were installed all over my hard-drive, etc. FSX kept crashing amongst other stuff, so out of frustration, I uninstalled and quit FSX and waiting for Flight. I'm currently having withdrawals and I'm thinking of re-installing FSX with the add-ons that I will only be using. However, I want to organize EVERYTHING FSX related into one folder. I do not want to make my PC into a simulator, but instead, I want FSX to be like any other 'game' on my computer, with its own folder and where it doesn't clutter my computer. Any advice on how to achieve this? Can all add-ons go into the FSX folder when installing without causing any issues? Thank you!

The can almost certainly all go into the FSX folder without any sort of issues, unless there are something bad going on in the installers. But just to be sure you could always create a root folder for your simming and then install FSX into that, addons into that etc. Example:

c: -Flightsim -FSX -PMDG MD11 -Leonardo Maddog -FSBuild
