January 27, 201115 yr Hey, anyone else noticed that in FS9 the clouds from ASE are now going all the way to the ground to the point it looks like the ground is actually cutting the clouds in half? I don't remember ever seeing my clouds going through the ground in a previous release and I have seen it into every flight I have taken since...Any suggestions? Am I the only one seeing this?-P Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
January 28, 201115 yr Hi Paul,Any data driven cloud heights at airports have been fixed. In extreme ground elevation change situations you may see low level clouds in the scenery. Of course random clouds could appear anywhere.
January 30, 201115 yr Hey, anyone else noticed that in FS9 the clouds from ASE are now going all the way to the ground to the point it looks like the ground is actually cutting the clouds in half? I don't remember ever seeing my clouds going through the ground in a previous release and I have seen it into every flight I have taken since...Any suggestions? Am I the only one seeing this?-PI recently purchased ASE and i've noticed the same problems. I mainly fly at EHAM Schiphol Netherlands.Installed the lastest version of ASE sp2, is there any way to fix it or is this a lost case? Ryan Jeremy--->near EHAM Netherlands
January 30, 201115 yr Author Thanks Jim,Whatever was fixed with the latest version broke this completely for me... I have never seen this with the previous version but almost all my landings now result in clouds being cut in half at ground level... BrokPiloot showed what I am seeing in a screenshot but I have seen it at EDDM, EGCC, EHAM, KEWR and EGLL so far...I am going to have to revert back to an older build b/c I never had to deal with this prior to the latest version...Thanks Jim, Thanks BrokPiloot for the screenie, based on Jim's response it looks like whatever they fixed broke this feature for some of us... Glad to know it's not just me...-PThis is FS9 with ASE SP2 Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
January 30, 201115 yr I mainly fly with DWC mode on, so downgrading ASE isn't an option for me. I due hope that this is an fixable issue.Hopefully you"ll get this sorted out by going back to the SP1 version. If so then it's clearly an update issue.-Flying with ASE SP2 on FSX x64 windows 7 Ryan Jeremy--->near EHAM Netherlands
January 30, 201115 yr Guys,Based on your given locations, I'll fire things up and go to those that you listed.
January 30, 201115 yr Hi All,Right now EHAM has clouds at 100, 200, and 300 feet. Even the METAR at NOAA confirms this. But FS doesn't put those clouds exactly at 100 feet. It may put some at 70, 50, 90 and scenery might just get in the way. It helps if your stratus cloud slider is at zero so that only cumulus clouds are drawn. In real life I wonder what EHAM looks like if the clouds are actually at 100, 200 and 300 ft.
January 31, 201115 yr Ok clouds seem to be broken at 900ft at the moment, changed the stratus cloud occurence from 20 to 0. The results are acceptable compared to last week. Clouds touched the ground no matter what the metar said. But seems to be good for now.Thx for your time i'll fiddle with it and see if it stays that way. And report my findings.
