MOBO for I7 2600K

Featured Replies

Hi .After reading many post i decide build my new computer dedicated to FSX base on I7 2600k , but i don't know which mobo to buy, i need to put on 3 video card to run at list 7 monitor i do have matrox triple head2go.Which RAM will be the best for this system? Thanks .

Hi you are better to go to a website like www.newegg.com pull up a list of 1155 boards. Base your decision on price and features and perform your own online research of your choice. When you see how many motherboard choices that you have, that is how many opinions you will receive in asking an open ended question in a forum.Pretty much the same for RAM but these are good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231444The board in my signature will run three cards at 8x. Good luck.

Isn't 7 monitors a touch overkill? However, do what Gary said. Go to newegg and look at all the boards. Pick one that supports 3-way SLi. Just a tip that SLI does absolutely nothing for FSX without very extensive tweaking.

Hi Grzesiu, you are from Poland I suppose (as I am), to run triple GFX configuration, you will need Asus Maximus IV Extreme or Gigabyte P67 UD7 (both are great overclockers too). Final choice depends on your budget, personally I will go with Gigabyte pretty soon - what caught my attention is that Gigabyte needs significantly less voltage to overclock (same clock for clock) than Maximus does, but this can be "bug" in CPUZ also. Time will tell. Only problem with Gigabyte is that OC software, that allows you to overclock under OS (not just standard BIOS) is not that great as both ASUS or MSI have. Probably Gigabyte will release new software in future. greets, Piotrekp.s. Other boards that are worth to consider are : Asus P8P67 Pro / Deluxe or Gigabyte P67 UD5.

Thanks Garey, Alex and Piotrek,Yes I am Polish, but i live in Canada. Piotrek your tips for motherbord is that what i'm looking for. I thing i will use the Gibabyte since I already have one in my current system and its work perfect especially the OS OC tools you mentioned. Dziekuje. Alex, the only reason I want 3 video cards is for my custom built cockpit based on plans from simsamurai.net. I have no plans to use SLI.

I'm glad i could help, have fun with new hardware - but as you probably already know, wait few week with a purchase. Intel has discovered a bug in P67 chip (so generally all motherboards are influenced). Problem is already solved and new, redesigned chip is send to vedors. Still, you have no guarantee what is on stock at your local reseller.greets, Peter
