January 30, 201115 yr Gi, guys, just a quick question:At what altitude do Winds Aloft 'kick in'?I have all the wind sliders at 0, and winds aloft are enabled. I was wondering at which alt would wind return to 0, and winds aloft deactivate. The recent SP2 update for ASE has proven to be much better for me.Thank you for your help. Adrian Burley London, UK
January 30, 201115 yr Hi,It's around the 3K mark, but you need to keep in mind that on a descent we have slowed down the transition. So yes, on a fast descent it is possible that your winds are still adjusting as you are landing. Before the release of SP2 we did experiment with a number of different variables and we felt that this was the best.
January 31, 201115 yr Author Thanks for your reply. Is there anyway the 3000 threshold can be adjusted?I have the option enabled where no weather is updated under a certain level. If i could switch off Winds Aloft under a certain level as well (so i can hold and land with zero winds), ASE would be absolutely perfect for me.I dont know if there is a config file somewhere?
