MD-11 causes CTD flying AP/ILS approaches

I am having serious show-stopping problems with my MD-11.When I am flying an ILS approach with the autopilot engaged, it causes first my computer to lock-up the sim, in which case I start to get the Windows Vista swirling circle right in the center of the screen, as if the computer is "thinking." Then the sim crashes.This happens each and every time I am flying an autopilot approach, and it always occurs between 500-1500ft AGL. I must find a fix to this issue.
