MD-11 Problem

Featured Replies

hello people,I have a problem in MD-11, CG OUT OF LIMIT, it happens sometimes and sometimes not. I know how to proceed when the problem arises, I transfer the fuel to the central tank, but I would like to know how to prevent this message from appearing on the plane.thanks, Luis Felipeimagemlib.jpgaewou.jpg

The TOCG must be within the limits before departure...so, between 13,7% and 31,8%...check that it's between those values during departure. The CG during the flight changes thanks to the fuel movement and burn...If the FUEL system is in AUTO the management must be automatic. As i can see in the second screenshot the FUEL SYS MANUAL alert is displayed...that says the Fuel sys is in manual mode and there isn't any automatic control over the CG%.But with the fuel you have onboard and the distribution of fuel in the tanks i think that is the cargo/passengers load on the aircraft giving you bad CG values. A so high CG% is impossible to achieve with no fuel in TAIL tank, and with a correct fuel load between the tanks.Check out your payload settings with the load manager by PMDG, there must be a wrong load in your settings.Cheers,

in the second screen, the system is manual because de cg value surpassed the max value, which is 34, and when this happens, the fuel sistem switch to manual.I noticed that when the route is too long and I put a few passengers and little cargo, which is the case of these photos, it appears the notice of CG OUT OF LIMIT, then I will fix the time of takeoff in the values of TOCG what you told me and see if the problem does not arise anymore.thanks,Luis

When a plane is little loaded there be problems of CG% in some cases. That's the fact because you need some spare fuel or load on the plane to mantain a valid CG value. The MD11 is an heavy plane in the tail (thanks to the tail fuel and the engine) and so, with little loads, there will be problems regarding CG. I suggest you to put always some cargo or passenger load to prevent the problem.cheers,

Paolo,Second your notes on this item. The departure weights distribution must have been out of range regarding CG.Once en-route nothing can be done to correct the situation, even in manaul mode.So it's not a (simulated) MD11 problem.Regards,Harry
