my atc menu started to look like this all of a sudden. also the menu at the top is very gray looking.

You're running an ATI card and your mip-map detail is set too low in CCC. (I'm almost sure, but I run Nvidia nowadays)..PS.. It would help others if you put a name, and then your system details as part of your signature... :(
