KVNY and KCMA FPS Slowdown

Featured Replies

I've recently installed the lite version of KVNY and have noticed a pretty hefty drop in frame rates when simply looking in it's direction. I have also noticed the same behavior at KCMA as well. Simply looking in the direction of the airport is enough to have a significant drop in frame rates.Well, I was taking a night flight from KSBA to KSNA the other day and my flight path took me directly over KVNY. That's when I noticed a very strange phenomenon. Attached is a partial screen shot of what I saw...a whole bunch of apron lighting that seemed to breath as I passed over. So one moment the whole apron was lighted up and the next the lights would recede back to their respective origins...it was a very odd effect.I'm not sure what would cause the effect but I'm assuming that it's that visibility/distance from the object which controls when or what you can see. Since I'm experiencing frame rate issues and after seeing the lighting, (the shear amount of it), I was wondering if that could be why I'm experiencing low frame rates at both KNVY and KCMA.So I guess the question is if anyone else has experienced this issue and if so, if there is a fix for it to share :)Mark

Since no one else has chimed in here yet, I'm just going to suggest that you:1) Post the manufacturer of each of these sceneries2) Your system specs: CPU, Memory, Video Card Etc. (An example of system specs can be found in my signature below.)If these are very complex sceneries, and you're running with high amounts of AI, what you are seeing may be perfectly normal for a system like yours.
