My Observations of FS Captain

Featured Replies

Here are some observations from my time spent with the Beta Demo. My setup is as follows:ASE - REX - FDC Live Cockpit - GEXI setup two companies, on real world (Lufthansa) by using the WOAI schedules and another with auto generated schedule by hubs (smaller regional prop). Both features worked well, however I did notice that import the aircraft to match with the schedules from WOAI did not work as all flights a/c were not defined. I really like the flexibility in using either a real world, smaller regional, cargo etc.... or even a 1960 airline for my 707. FSCaptain is very flexible in the fact that I can define each airline in a unique way.I did a test flight using my imported Lufthansa Airline from KSEA - EDDF. FDC Live cockpit and FSC (as well as ASE) worked very well together and really helped to enhance the flight. I enjoyed speaking with company and liked how they gave me weather reports and landing clearance as the weather meet company policy. I also like the way the staff preformed their duties and ground crew. I would like to see even more interaction with company if that is possible.I was not able to try the auto assign a flight in the demo, but I like that I can choose an a/c and it auto pick a route for me. I also like the fact that I have options on choosing a flight. For example I can fly from KSEA to EDDF using the Administrator and then jump in and fly. Next I can just load up the FCOM setting at EDDF and select a flight from there. I can see myself using this combination a lot.I did not run into any in flight emergencies, but I was pushed for time and I defiantly felt the stress on getting to my destination on time. This is an added bonus on being more involved in the flight. In the end I am going to purchase as I know this product is still evolving and it appears it will only get better and is already built on a great foundation. I did find the directions a little confusing but I asked questions and figured others out as I went along. I am still going through everything to get a firm understanding and tweaking as I go along. I would like to have the feature of assigning specific aircraft to a company, but I know this probably is not necessary. In the end this is a great way to be a captain and really just focus on flying and becoming a better pilot. I have all the other add-ons, however I think this one will hold my attention for a long time as I will fly for multiple types of airlines. Thanks for reading.LW
