Windshear in Flight Simulator

Featured Replies

Hi All,Wind sheer is possible, but it is almost impossible to set up using the FS weather screen. It is best to use a weather program that simulates drafts and thermals. Using Active Sky v6.5 you can manually set up thermals that act as downdrafts and you can control some of the parameters. With Active Sky Advanced the program will generate thermals, updrafts, and downdrafts, all controlled with sliders within the program. Now, remember to be realistic with your expectations also. A huge 474 is not going to get slammed into the ground by anything in FS. But small to medium planes can be heavily affected under the proper conditions.

So thermals in FS were purely set up for gliders and parasailing right Jim?Daniel
