November 14, 200322 yr For those wondering about VFR England.Like some others, I decided to see if VFR Southern England worked in FS2004. First I made a restore point in XP.I plonked the files in the Scenery directory plus the flatten file & made the Scenery.cfg additions.I was very surprised to find that it worked far better than it did in FS2002. I landed at Heathrow 27L at 40 f/sec, unheard of for me.I was using the default 747, but there was real-weather with clouds.Maybe this flatten file is especially good. Default Heathrow. Blurring & slow texture draw has virtually disappeared. I'm using the new 56.12 driver with Ti4200 P4 3.01 512 ram Nvidia controlled anti-aliasing. XP Home with all updates. No extended textures, of course. Aircraft shadows allowed. Mipmaps 4. 3d clouds 100% Terrain detail land only. Most sliders near max. Cloud sight distance, 60mile Water effects low. Frame rate unlimited. The effect with real weather default clouds is sensational. Never seen any thing better out the window.Peter Sydney Australia
