September 9, 200223 yr I've just finished wading through Eagle92395's thread about what other games people play. Cool thread! But I saw David Freeman's post there saying that he doesn't like video games... only simulators.I was wondering what people think about where to draw the line between a video game and a sim. Is FS2002 a game? What about IL2? What about Falcon 4.0? What about operation Flashpoint? Blimey... where's that line?Simon.
September 9, 200223 yr I would tell you that I think the difference for me is that a game has a beginning and an end. Games have a goal. There is not end to FS. The only goal is to make it more realistic. There are alot of Simulators out there that I don't mess with. Like the Combat sims. Medal of honor is a game. There is a beginning and an end. Even if it takes two years to achieve the goal. That is just my oppinion,DAVE
September 9, 200223 yr I'd say the same. When trying to explain flight sims to ordinary people, I often compare it to model railroading. To some it's a game or toy, but to others it's a consuming endless passion.
September 9, 200223 yr Yup. People never understand the attraction to FS, so I always tell them:"If I have to explain it, you wouldn't understand."Either you're an FS Phreak, or you think your husband/son/wife/daughter/nephew/cousin is simply a freak.
