March 2, 201115 yr I posted previously that I CTD when I tried to fly the Grumman Cougar (f9f.zip - Ito's model) from the AVSIM library. I have reinstalled, I can select the aircraft but when I 'Fly Now' the 'Microsoft Simulator has stopped working' message appears. Has anyone successfully installed and flown this model?I also installed the Aeroplane Heaven Panther. When I try to fly this I get a message 'FS9 has detected potentially incompatible software GAUGES\Cpo xxx' (can't remember the exact gauge file name). I presume this is because the Panther was designed for FS2002. Is there a way around this to get it to fly in FS9?TIA
March 2, 201115 yr Hello,Sometime ago .. I posted this in a other forum about the Mr Ito Cougar :) Download this :http://www.4shared.com/file/XEj8O3G1/Cougar_addi.htmlReplace the panel by the one in the downloadReplace the aircraft.cg by the one in the download (aircraft name in now ATESTTESt .. you can change it of course ..)Put all the files from the effects folder in your FS2004 effects folderThat's allWhat new ?Afterburner effectVortices effectsLight in good positionsAbout your remarks !The aircraft bounce only one time for me and stay center lineThe attitude of the plane on ground is correct. For take off put 2 notches flaps and few up trim.About speed 140 you will seen the noze go down slowly .. it's time to pull gently on the stick and take off with no probsFor the hook:You can deploy the hook only when airborne .. with (me) SHIFT + QRemark:At high speed the effectiveness of elevators is very poor .. take care !If you feel not enough elevator authority at high speed you can change the (bold) number in aircraft.cfg[flight_tuning]cruise_lift_scalar=1.0parasite_drag_scalar=1.0induced_drag_scalar=1.0elevator_effectiveness=1.5 instead of 1aileron_effectiveness=1.0rudder_effectiveness=1.0pitch_stability=1.0roll_stability=1.0yaw_stability=1.0elevator_trim_effectiveness=1.0aileron_trim_effectiveness=1.0rudder_trim_effectiveness=1.0 Have a nice flightSo .. try it !!Panther:Are you sure you downloaded the FS2004 version ??http://www.heavenlyhangars.com/freestuff/Panther/AH_PANTHER_FS2004.exeCheck also here for modifications for the Panther:http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/page.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=downloads&FileUploadName=Real%20Old%20SaltRegards.Gus.

March 2, 201115 yr Author Gus: I have downloaded the Panther mods and will install these and your Cougar mods.ThanksGus: OK, I can fly the Cougar now - thanks. However I am finding that it has a tendency to go into a steep climb after takeoff and trimming is quite difficult. If I trim down to compensate for the climb it tends to dive!!! Also, there are sections in your modified aircraft.cfg which don't appear in the default aircraft.cfg (and vice versa.) Should the sections in the default aircraft.cfg (which don't appear in the modified aircraft.cfg) be added to the modified aircraft.cfg?
March 2, 201115 yr Hello,I don't have this trim problem...Anyways I send you a PM with a link for download the complete Cougar I use ...Regards.Gus.
