Default B737-400 landing problem....very frustrated...!

Featured Replies

Guys,I posted this before. After some advices, I tried very hard to land as suggested configuration but my b734 still pitch up and crashed at th final stage of landing! This is the landing config of my b737-400 at 300ft above runway threshold:-Flap 40 / Speed 140-150 IAS using AT an Approach Mode to glide the aircraft towards the runway! The moment I disengaged AT and Approach Mode, my b734 ptich up violently and lost control !!Please kindly advise what went wrong and what is your b734 config at the stage of final to land successfull?Thank you very much in advance!

I think when you use auto throttle AT and then disengage the autopilot the throttle gets reset to whatever it is on your yoke or key board and may cause this behaviour.I would recommend not using AT on approach, and control your air speed manually. Its not hard. Maintain 150 and then disengage the autopilot, slowly reducing power and flare..should work ok..I find it lands better at about 10 kts above the recommmended IAS. Experiment and see what works for youAlso you dont mention how long your flight is but if you are practicing with full load and fuel it makes landing difficult. Reduce your payload and fuel for short hops or circuits.good luckBill

Hi Bill,Thanks a lot for your advice.Well, I'm still using the fs2002 technics to fly/land my fs2004'sB737-400...which might not be applicable in fs2004!Ok, I will manual control my ias as you suggesed and see how it goes! Thanks again!
