Help! FS2004 hangs on startup when "loading terrain - 55-60%"

Featured Replies

After a relatively blissful few months of running FS2004, I'm encountering a frequent error. Regardless of where I start my flight, FS2004 quits at "loading terrain" usually at around 55-60% done. Has anyone encountered this before? What might be causing it?Also, sometimes when I'm flying and just changing from cockpit to spot view, FS2004 shuts down.I'd appreciate it if someone can offer some suggestions. Thanks!

If you have recently tried a file called railroadsu.zip, tis may be your problem. At least it was for me. Had the same problem when I tried this file, I had to replace with my backup until a version two called railrdv2_128359.zip, was released.Hope this helps.

Lots of threads on this problem recently. Have you installed (the early version of) railroadsu.bmp, a mod to the rail road tracks? If so, revert to the original or install Vance's latest version. If you have not, then it may be some other incompatible scenery you have installed recently. Or a number of other things ... suggest you comb some other threads.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg
