I have done this everytime I upgrade my system w/o problems. You might have to open up the bios when you first install the new hard drive and make sure the SATA port is enabled. Although you won't be able to use it to boot up your system you'll still be able to move "My Documents", "My Videos", "My Pictures", FSX scenery, etc., over to the new system SSD as long as you don't format the hard drive. You really don't need to format the hard drive as Windows will recognize it and automatically give it the next Drive letter. If it does not recognize it, then it is not enabled in the bios. Once you move your personal documents over to the new hard drive, then you can format the drive if you want but again, it is not necessary.Best regards,Jim
March 9, 201115 yr The 1305 bios is already loaded. I got my system back up and running with my fingers and toes crossed everything is okay. So far so good.Best regards,Jim
