  1. Hi i would just like to input my 2 cents here and goodluck whatever you choose. i personally would not buy any carenado's stuff as the flight systems and gps are always watered down and i always feel they just dont go that extra bit like all the other ones pmdg etc. i have tried most of carenado's stuff and i always feel its lacking in so many ways and just isnt what i expect for payware and some freeware i would say is just as good as there stuff. on the other hand i would use orbx for scotland scenery and i love vfr gen x vol 1-3 for there england wales scenery its fantastic and i find it much better looking and much nicer on fps compared to orbx and it is great for vfr flying. i would like others have said get the realair or a2a stuff its really is hard to beat and would get there turbine or piston duke its fantastic. Another addon that is currently my favourite is the razbam metro 3 i have to say its took the better part of 3 months to get into and to be honest i wasnt a fan to start but i absolutley love it but it has a few niggles that can be sorted out by a few guys over at the forums but it is lovley to hand fly and i like the oldschool feel of it my 2nd best plane and my old favourite was the realair turbine and piston duke brilliant little rockets  Also if your into GA flying i would have a look at fseconomy its so addictive and its free and the community over there are brillaint aswell i would say fseconomy is a must have as it gives your short hops a purpose it just adds a new layer to my fsx and love flying on it. goodluck
  2. I will have a look at that cheers
  3. Hi all i cant believe im going to ask this but i have tottaly forgot how to do this and my brain drawing a blank. My question is how do i get the autopilot to follow the gps route ive moved the switch from nav to gps and have a flightplan on the gps but i cant get the autopilot to follow the gps and when i go into the autopilot panel it wont let me click the nav button so it will follow the desired route im currently having to use the heading button to follow my gps route what am i doing wrong as i used to be able to click the nav button on the autopilot and it would follow the gps route. thanks in advance hayden
  4. Absolutley the upgrade from my gtx580 to 970 was a brilliant increase in smoothness i can run more clouds and lod at 6.5 looks fantastic and really like the performance as i can also run another monitor aswell with little effect with the 4gb memory of the 970 ☺
  5. Just upgraded from a evga gtx580 to a gtx970 i would not go for a gtx980 as its not worth the extra cost and the 970 is best bang for your money. fsx runs so much smoother compared to the 580 i had. i got the msi gtx970 for around £280 with free game and the performance is perfect i would just save the extra money you would spend on the 980 and treat yourself to a few addons. so for me it would be a msi gtx970 as the fans rarely kick in and is super quiet or the asus strix but it was out of stock and liked the msi version better.
  6. Not sure of budget but i can highly recommend the thrustmaster warthog had for 2 years and is absolutley brilliant. A cheaper option is look at fsuipc and calibrate your stick without using fsx calibration its buggy at best hope you get it sorted
  7. Just thought this would be a interesting topic since were into another year. Now my question is what would you most like to see come to the flight sim market that for you would step it up another level whether it being aircraft addons scenery peripherals such as yokes throttles etc. In my opinion i would really like to see more developers bringing quality products into the flight sim community as every year i wonder what new things will come out for us die hard flight sim members. I feel we are lacking in productivity as a whole as most of the big names seem to only bring out 2 to 3 big addons i would really like to see more than this and i would really like to see a polling system where instead of them telling us what they are bringing to the table i would really like to see them saying to us what do you want us to release like aircraft or scenery etc. And i would love to see maybe more money being spent developing quality yokes at a affordable price not plastic and have load sensing implemented the thing that i have been following recently is iris dynamics new yoke that is being released in small numbers and is still getting developed as the concept behind this seems fantastic but i would really like some more products like this. and also my biggest thing would have to be a pmdg level of detail of a 707 so what do you all think would make or take flight sim on a whole to the next level. ☺
  8. That simbrief looks brilliant thanks very much for the suggestion exactly what i was looking for and will definetly use that instead of pfpx for the time being.
  9. Hi all been flying fseconomy and twins for a while and been away from jets looking to buy the aerosoft airbus bundle http://www.justflight.com/product/aerosoft-airbus-bundle-for-fsx-and-p3d Now the reason i came away from jets is it takes too much time setting up the complex systems this is how the airbus bundle is appealing to me as it seems in depth enough but you can just jump in and get going compared to the pmdg stuff i love but dont have time to use. Now this is where i need the help im really after best bang for buck sort of say instead of shelling out £80 for one plane i would like more addons that are going to give me the most in return. what i have in mind is the airbus stuff listed above gsx for airport immersion pfpx flight planner This would cost just over £100 I feel this package would give me alot more enjoyment than just a aircraft what i want to know is with gsx does this work with most airports and does it add another layer to fsx. also with the airbus i have seen people using pfpx for flight planning and then clicking loadsheet within the airbus my question is does pfpx calculate the fuel and then when you go to release the flightplan and save it is this the loadsheet that you can use in the airbus loadsheet. Ive also seen that pfpx can be bundled with topcat fuel planning is it worth getting this or just get pfpx and use that money towards navigraph subscription. Thanks
  10. I would not use fsx built in assignments what you really want to use is fsuipc its much better as fsx is pritty buggy when trying to assign controls plus you can do much more with fsuipc its not that expensive and would recommend it as i have my warthog setup through it so i can use dual throttle config. also take a look at LINDA for fsx its also good for assigning buttons etc to addon aircraft.
  11. Would have to be the a2a b17 then a2a p51d mustang fslabs concorde brilliant but dont have time to use it.
  12. Looking forward to this one v1 is one of my top planes love flying it.
  13. To me it just does not go that extra mile with the polish and finishing touches such as no button click sounds and there is a few problems with it such as engines wont start on occassion and the locks dont work on the throttles unless you go in and change the config file. I also know that the real metros dont have autopilot but they put one in anyway buy the vs cant be adjusted etc it was nice they included a autopilot function but in doing so they should have made it so all the functions work which they did not so it seems really lazy to me and if they were not going to finish the autopilot functions to a high standard then they should not have bothered implementing it. I just feel for a product that they want you to pay for they should not rely on someone on the forums cant remember his name adding stuff that should have been there in the first place. I am very fussy about what addons i buy and i expect them to be of high quality and tested before release Carenado and Razbam in my personal opinion just fall short of my expectations as a payware aircraft they dont go that little bit further such as realair a2a fslabs pmdg. When i buy any of the above planes i know they will be the most realistic and polished products in my hangar. This is not the case when i bought Razbam and i wont buy another Carenado either as these are what i call hangar queens.
  14. Realair turbine or piston duke or flight 1 b200 i just bought its also very good cant wait for turbine v2. I would stay away from carenado as in my opinion everything is half finished and the systems side of things are not upto scratch the same can be said for the razbam metro 3 i bought this in the sale and i still feel i was ripped off and is the worst purchase i have made in years. Realair turbine or piston duke or flight 1 b200 i just bought its also very good cant wait for turbine v2.
  15. not sure where your from my friend but i would recommend having a look at scan in boltons 3xs system builds its where i bought my rig from and other than buying a few bits and bobs over the 5 years i have had it its been the best pc i have ever owned and if i was to buy another i would be right back spending my money with them. mine cost around £1600 but the gtx580 was just released and took up nearly £500 of that money there customer service was 2nd to none as when i bought this the sandybridge motherboards were having problems so i took a chance and bought the motherboard anyway and a week later it failed as alot of them were faulty i phoned scan and a tech was here in a couple of days to replace the motherboard and never had a problem since. anything between £700 to £1000 just isnt going to cut it for fsx and will be far too outdated for the latest games in a year and a bit i got sick of buying a pc every 2 years for around £800 it was not upto the task when i bought it and was just a waste of money. i know over a £1000 is a lot of money for a pc but honestly it is the best thing i have bought i picked what i wanted in it they built it overclocked it and delivered it to me and i can honestly say for paying that little bit extra towards what you really want there is nothing better than opening your new toy up with all the shiny bits you wanted. only thing i can recommend is read forums everywhere toms hardware gur3d overclockers. people that helped influence me in buying mine was youtube broadcasters linustechtips and techoftomorrow they are really good and do lots of testing and benchmarks with really helpful info. Also fsx is a nightmare of a game and requires alot of testing tweaking and determination to get running like you want it i personally have a love hate relationship with it. i will link you to the website and you can have a look at there 3xs systems on there website. http://www.scan.co.uk/3xs/custom/gaming/form-factors http://www.scan.co.uk/3xs/ I hope you get your dream machine my friend as its the best thing when it arrives at your house good luck but please dont just rush in and buy something because your on a budget as i have done this 4 previous times before buying this and in the long run the amount i spent trying to "make it better" i could have just got what i wanted
