You'll have to get new RAM that supports the new MB and I recommend installing the 64 bit version of Windows 7 as it manages memory much better. I would get the I5 or I7 2500K and the Sandy Bridge Motherboard from ASUS or Gigabyte or MSI - whatever you can afford. Since FS9 is GPU intensive, you might want to look at upgrading the video card too. FSX is CPU intensive. Upgrading the video card may reduce or eliminate the stuttering.Best regards,Jim

Going by this, you were trying to avoid buying a new computer... ie. New processor, new motherboard, new ram. So buying an I7 Processor and motherboard, ddr3 ram, and a power supply (I'm sure) would be a new system. Not to mention the 9600GT just wouldn't keep up.I think your Pentium 4 system has served you well if it's still running. Maybe just make do with it until you're ready to build a whole new system?

Hello Jim, I have decided to just build from scratch...the question is will FS9 work in windows 7 64bit?
