November 20, 200322 yr hI, I am having a Problem evertime i boot up mu Computer, I get a IPHLPAPI.Dll, Failed to load error! Now i treid to replace the DLL with a new one from this site http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/dll_iphlpapi.phtml, but everytime i try to overwrite or Delete that IPHLPAPAI.DLL, it says cannot delete or rename or Overwrite, as file is in use by Windows!?? So How the Hell am i supposed to repalce or fix this DLL if i cannot replace the bad one?? Please HELP, As this is effecting my FS somehow, as it keeps giving me the FS Encounterd an Error, and will close! When i load an Aircraft in FS! Very frustrating, PLEASE Someone know what to do or know of another Web site with info on how to fix this?, I need Major HELP!!!! MIKE:( :( :(
November 20, 200322 yr You could try starting in Safe mode and doing the delete and copy there .Or - if that doesn't work you could try this( worked for me in a similar situation years ago)Start the machine in MS DOS having first put a copy of the .dll on a floppy(I'm assuming it is small enough to go on one - if not burn it to a cd).Choose start with CDROM support if you're using a cd .When you get the A: prompt either copy the file from the floppy to the appropriate folder within whatever program requires it, or if it's on a cd , navigate to the CD drive( CD x: where x is your CD drive)Locate the file(DIR) then copy it to the correct place.I'm sorry I can't remember all the DOS commands but there are plenty of sites where you can d/l a complete list.I think you may possibly have to delete the "old" file in DOS first before copying the new one .I don't guarantee it'll work but can't do any harm to try.Dave
