March 24, 201115 yr Hello Gents.Going right to the point, here are my new PC specs: Core i7 950, OC'ed to 3,84 Ghz via BIOS, fully stable.. (CM Hyper 212+ cooler, CM HAF 922 tower)Asus Sabertooth X58 motherboard. 6 GB (3x2) Kingston 1600 Mhz, CL7 RAM (set with right timings, clock, voltage etc.)Gainward GTX 570, 1280Mb "Goes Like Hell" (stock-overclocked)850W Corsair Powersupply.Scores 5488 points in 3DMark 11' ( http://3dmark.com/3dm11/799891 )Now my question is: Will adding another GPU help my FSX performance notably ?I don't have any issues with FSX. It's running just fine! Setup with the help of NickN's guide, Nvidia inspector etc. BUT, as you all know. We all dream of being able to push those sliders further and further, maintaining high FPS and smoothe flight (if you say no - you're lying ! :P ) With the PMDG 747-400X, situated at Aerosofts "Mega Airport Frankfurt X" and high slider settings, I can manage to get the FPS quite low.. Of course, setting sliders to "realistic" values makes it run just fine. But I'm curious if investing in another GTX 570 (exactly same model ofc.) for SLI, will improve anything? In other words, where do you think the "bottleneck" is? CPU or GPU ? Looking forward to read your opinion/experience  Regards, Lasse B-Hansen
March 24, 201115 yr There's a wealth of information on these forums regarding that question. The answer is "no". FSX does not utilize SLI at all. If tweaks are made to force it through the driver, performance can be (will be) hurt, not helped. The only way it would help, would be if FSX was being run at extreme resolutions. That's where fill rate becomes more important. As of now, CPU is THE bottleneck and adding another card in SLI will only compound that situation (even more work for the CPU). ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
March 24, 201115 yr Author ZachLW, Thank you for your reply! I actually searched for the answer, and did find threads regarding this question. But they about older systems. Thought maybe with a newer system it could be different. But it isn't I can hear. But I'm glad to get that answer. Saves me from buying another GPU I'll be off, maybe tweaking the CPU a bit more Cheers
March 24, 201115 yr Yes, your better off trying for a little higher overclock. 4.0GHz+ range if you can keep it cool/stable with Prime95. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
