C119 problem

Featured Replies

Hi guys,Just downloaded the beautiful C119 made by D. Yamamoto.I'm using FS2002, and after I've started the engines, I can't apply full throttle :S nothing happens, and after 10sec the engines shut down :-hmmmIs that the FS2002/04 problem? or is there a fix needed?thanx in advance,:-waveEvert------------------------------Visit the Holland Aviation Siteand learn more about aviation in Holland!!! :Dhttp://fly.to/hollandaviationsiteLast update 18/11/03Concorde pictures added, pictures of trip to heathrow added and more!!!!!!! ------------------------------

Unknown if a 2k2 problem or not, but you can adjust this in cfg: idle_rpm_friction_scalar= .60 to this number or less to keep them lit.

The C-119 is designed for FS2004 and such uses an air file for FS2004 only. To solve the problem, grab another airfile from a similar plane that works in FS2002. I used the MAAM B-25J as it seemed similar in performance and vintage. Works fine. If you don't have the MAAM plane(Payware) pick any "heavy" 2 engine prop and try it. Don't expect the developer to offer a FS2002 version. Those guys have enough on their plate and most consider FS2002 dead and gone. (Not all, but a lot).-------------------Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what

Love this plane - the perfect thing for flying around the third world playing Air America! Had to download it as soon as I saw it (plus a stack of repaints by Nerelli Paolo a week later). One of the numerous 3rd party sound sets is good to - the MS DC3 sounds are to civilised.Anyway, as I read the notes for the C-119, it IS a 2k2 aircraft (by Daisuke Yamamoto) tweaked for FS9 (by Heather Sherman, Herb Morse and Brian Gladden). In the zip or the C-119 directory you'll find two .air files: Beech_ Barron_58.air and Fairchild C119.air. I suspect the latter is the Mr Yamamoto's original 2k2 .air file 'cause the old girl flys like sh.. er, badly with it loaded in FS9. Try it for 2002, it may save you tracking down the previous version.Oh, and kinda get the engine shutdown thing too. When the sim loads, if I don't crack the throttles sharpish both engines die. No probs restarting, however, just so long as I've got 5% or so throttle set. I tell myself she's a tired old crate, and just needs a little coaxing when cold ;-)Laurie

Hello!!!I found the same thing, too, about this a/c. Heather Sherman suggested having a look at this forum, also:http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Lizardo/These guys were a huge help, because I had almost exactly the same problem, and they helped set me straight. I saw something in a unrelated post about the A-26 Invader there, which may help in your problem with the engines cutting off-it recommended adjusting the min_throttle_limit for that a/c up, tried it on my C-119G and it worked for me.....Best Regards,Joe Denoyer
