  1. I am hoping one of you can help me with finding the location Of the Carenado Cessna CT182T registry folder. I went into the registry editor over the weekend to solve a problem with another aircraft. I am wondering if the Carenado Cessna CT182T is uninstalled, the registry folder deleted, then the aircraft if re-installed it might solve my dilemma with the Carenado Cessna CT182T "stuttering" which I posted about earlier. Best Regards Joe D
  2. I recently purchased the retail (boxed) version from a 3rd party on-line retailer of the Carenado Cessna CT182T. No problems with install and FSX then loads aircraft without any error messages. However this is where the trouble starts. About 5-10 minutes into a flight the aircraft begins to "stutter" or "hesitate". Tried a bunch of different workarounds like setting the graphics sliders a little lower. Searched the Carenado knowledge base and tried the suggestion of altering the settings in the Carenado Navigraph folder which also did not work. I don't think my computer is the problem. Brand new, plenty of power, capacity and only used for flight simming. It has Windows 10 and runs FSX plus "Acceleration" without any trouble. I have a bunch of other Carenado aircraft which function without any problems so I don't understand what's wrong here. I have seen a couple of other posts where others have described a similar issue with this aircraft which something called Carenado SP 20130813 helped a great deal. Again I bought the boxed version and don't see a patch on the support section of the site for the CT182 patch? Any suggestions?
  3. Hello!: Very sorry to hear that-thanks for your fast reply...Best RegardsDevil 505Joe DEFFC 411
  4. Hi Guys!:Not sure if this is the correct forum for this post, so here goes....Out of curiousity, what happened to LAGO??? (You know, Emma Field, and that nice DHC-6, etc.) I'm kind of in and out with flightsimming, kind of fiddle around when I get a few minutes here and there. Anyway, wanted to look at some of their stuff, tried the last website I knew of for them, (www.lagosim.com) even tried a really old address (www.lagoonline.com) and kept getting the "could'nt find this ....etc." message. Anyway, just kind of curious-did'nt remember hearing anything about them merging with another company or going out of business. Hope they did'nt, because they do some great stuff. Thanks for your patience....Best RegardsDevil 505Joe DEFFC 411
  5. Hello All!It's been a long time since I've posted here, so I hope no one minds this being a somewhat lengthy post. Anyway, I ran into a small problem while installing scenery I hope one of you can shed some light on. I downloaded 86wa 2K2.zip, Kapowsin Field, Washington, by Ron Vorak and Brian Moat, from http://www.FlightSim.com. I installed it as per instructions, then went to add scenery and added it to FS 2002. However when I selected it as the departure airport the following messages appeared:"Scenery object not found, this may cause some scenery , such as some buildings, not to display, ID: 0x682406CE, 0x48E82E8B, 0xFAAF3E83, 0XA23C0FD1." This was followed by: "Scenery object not found, this may cause some scenery , such as some buildings, not to display, ID: 0xF214AE09, 0x4AB15DE8, 0x3A5A22BC, 0x757B0C21." This scenery calls for Gerrish's Trees Library, Trees_v3, Airport 202, Airport 210, ASD 2.1, VOD 27 and VOD 30 Textures which I have downloaded and installed before. Also, I have downloaded and installed Gerrish Gray's Autogen tree and building replacement textures, and both the NOVA and NOVA Gold textures previously.I emailed the authors, and got a very fast response from Ron who is one of the original authors. He kindly emailed some textures which were missing from the original file upload. Although everything was installed in the correct places, then Kapowsin Field "added," I'm still getting the error messages I mentioned before. I also spent about ten minutes on the telephone with Ron while he very patiently explained some suggestions to try and fix the problem. Unfortunately the messages still appeared so I disabled Kapowsin. I have posted about this on www.flightsim.com and www.simflight.com forums. Although people have had some good suggestions, nothing seems to have helped.I don't have anything terribly exotic installed, just standard FS 2002 stuff like Lago FSSE and FSSS, Active Sky Wxre and FS Traffic. I have a mix of freeware and payware scenery installed in FS 2002 for the Northwest of the U.S., Alaska and British Columbiam Canada. I have Emma Field, Dexterville, Dexter's landing, Frog's Head Island. Frog's Head Heights, Frenchy's Hideaway, Harvey, Concrete Municipal. Elma, Sanderson, Lago Georender 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, plus a lot of little places done by different authors in Lago FSSE, but I don't remember all their names. I have almost all the sceneries done by Michael Carr, Tom Fica, Don Moser, and a few by Frank Betts, too. Finally, I have USA Extreme Landscapes by Abacus (includes a nice Piper Dakota) and National Parks (also by Abacus, includes a nice little DHC-2 Dehavilland Beaver) At one stage I had FS Global SE but think I uninstalled it because I did'nt see a great deal of difference. As far as the world goes I have a little bit of everything, payware and freeware. As far as I can remember I don't have any landclass files installed-I tried some from another add-on once and ended up taking them out right away because they were conflicting with something else (not sure what, though...) I also have a fairly quick PC, a HP M7640N Media Center PC, with AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000 processor, 320GB hard drive, and Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE graphics, so capacity ahould'nt be an issue. After all that it looks like the problem may lie somewhere else other then Kapowsin field but I have'nt got the foggiest idea of where to look. Double checked, made sure I've got current/complete versions of everything and that they are in the correct places, eg. .bgl files in scenery folder and .bmp in texture folder. I don't delete any texture files, or gauge files in the case of aircraft, in case another file needs them to work. Since the rest of my scenery displays normally and these don't appear when any other scenery area is loaded, the problem appears to be confined to this one small area. Since the default Kapowsin airfield is not that large I am assuming the culprit is probably a tree or small building. Is it possible from the error message ID to figure out what object/texture it's looking for and cannot find??? I ran into a similar problem once when reinstalling "Dexterville." Similar messages appeared and it turned out I'd forgotten to reinstall Gerrish Gray's Trees. I have a feeling it will be something really simple that was overlooked. Anyway, I'm kind of stuck here-not sure where I've gone wrong and hope some one can help....Best RegardsJoe D"Devil 505EFFC 411
  6. Hi!:Don't know if this is the right place to ask but does AVSIM still have a FS 2002 forum to post a question???Best RegardsJoe D Devil 505EFFC 411
  7. Dear Randal/Colin:Just a short note to let everyone know the status of the problem with getting rid of the Wilco 737 from the "Add/Remove Programs" menu.Your advice was absolutely spot on!!! Sat down today at the PC, after getting my household chores done first, and after following your instructions to the letter, fixed the problem within about 20 to 25 minutes. I am so pleased this a/c can finally be used after all this time! Luckily, I did'nt end up having to use either one of the "restore" points which were created, too.I only hit one snag, which was after deleting a couple of the highlighted entries you said to look for. Went to delete another highlighted entry, and a window saying "unable to delete all values" popped up. Took a second or two to catch on, until I looked at the program tree/list of files over on the left side of the screen, that it was a Wilco folder. Once it was highlighted and deleted, thpppt!, end of problem. Same thing next couple of times I saw a Wilco folder (have nothing else by them installed right now) and the WIlco 737 was reinstalled and flying within a short time of rebooting/restarting the PC.Randall, all you guys really rock!!! I have lost count of the number of people I described this situation to. If someone had just said to do what you suggested, I could have gotten this fixed many, many moons ago...Once again, thanks very, very much!!! Best Regards,"Devil 505"Joe D
  8. Hi Randall/Colin,Yes, I will give your advice a try and report back to let you know how everything went as soon as possible. Probably will not be able to get to it for a few days as I am working "afternoons," 1500 to 2300, for the next couple of weeks. Also, I have been prettyb busy getting our house squared away for our impending move back to the States, so.....Thanks again to you both for coming back so quickly about it. You guys all rock!!!Best Regards,"Devil 505"Joe D
  9. Hi Randall,Oops, the most important bit of info and I forgot to give it to you! I have "Windows XP" OS.Wow, you guys rock, that's a really fast response!Best Regards,"Devil 505"Joe D
  10. Hi Randall,Thanks for the fast response!!! Will try to answer you point by point, though, so I don't accidentally skip mentioning something I have done which might affect the corrective actions needed to fix this.1) When I mentioned manual deletion of any Wilco files left behind I was'nt referring to the registry. As a matter of fact, I was told by a lot of people (especially my wife!!!) not to mess around in it as you can REALLY mess up your PC if you don't know what you're doing.2) I have searched using the "Windows XP" search function, also tried scouting around off & on folder by folder, but did'nt find anything else left behind. I guess this means it only searches the list of programs, not the registry, right???3) Yes, you are absolutely right, there was also a patch for the Wilco 737 which had to be installed following the installation of the aircraft itself. I think the correct sequence was something like: 1) Install the Fly! patch 2) the Wilco 737 3)Then the Wilco 737 patch. In all honesty I thought at the time uninstalling the aircraft took the patch with it....Lastly, about going into the registry after first backing up the files, can you tell me in a little more detail how to go about doing this??? I ran into one of the guys from the IT department at work today who is also a sometimes gamer, explained the problem to him and briefly what you suggested. Pretty much what he said to do was click on "Start," then "Run," and type in "regedit" As far as backing up the registry files beforehand, he said something about typing in "filebackup" but I did'nt understand what he was saying and he did'nt have time to go into anymore detail...Again, I won't go in there and start messing around without being sure of what I'm doing, as I would like to think I'm smart enough to know when I might be getting into something which is a little bit "over my head" in terms of my level of PC knowledge. I understand it may seem like I am "pinging" and going into a lot of detail about a minor issue, but I look at it as a good opportunity to learn how to do something which I may be able to later pass onto someone else who needs help too....Thanks again guys.....Best Regards,"Devil 505"Joe D
  11. Hello All!!!Hope one of you who visits the forum on a regular basis can help me with a problem which has been bugging me since first getting our PC a couple of years ago now.Shortly after getting our new PC, like all good flight simmers, I installed "Fly!" Not long after that, I purchased and downloaded the Wilco Publishing 737 for "Fly!" (PC version, by the way.)I was a complete "newbie" at the time with installing add-ons, so I had some trouble with getting the aircraft to appear in the selection menu. Once I did it was worth the effort, as it was a nice aircraft to fly. Unfortunately, though this is about where I hit problems.Did'nt realise until after the Wilco 737 was installed I had forgotten to first install the "Fly!" patch, so I uninstalled the 737, then "Fly!" itself. I figured since I now knew how it was done re-installing everything which had just been uninstalled should'nt be a big problem.Even though I uninstalled "Fly!/Wilco 737 for Fly!" by going into "Control Panel," then "Add/Remove Programs," for some odd reason, the PC still thinks some of the old Wilco files are still there. When I click on "Add/Remove Programs" a window will appear asking whether I want to add, repair or remove the installion. After I select "remove," another window saying selected operations are complete next appears. However, a file of 1.29mb in size saying "Wilco Publishing" still remains on the list for"Add/Remove Programs." I made sure I went back and manually deleted anything which said "Wilco Publishing" after uninstall was carried out via the control panel. I have also tried re-install from my back up CD-Rom, but the window I just described keeps appearing.Guys, is this easily fixable??? I've been meaning to post about this for a long time, just never seemed to get around to it. Tried posting about this on another forum, but never got any responses. This is REALLY bugging me for a couple of reasons. I remember seeing a very similar situation described on a MSFS 2002 forum, but don't remember the advice given to solve the problem. I'm sure it's something minor I'm overlooking, and that nice 737 is stuck on my back up CD instead of flying the vurtual skies where it should be.....Thanks for any suggestions...Best Regards,"Devil 505"Joe D
  12. Hello Roger!Sorry about lateness of reply, working "nights" (2400hrs to 0900hrs) this week.(Ouch!)Thanks very much for your advice about the problem I was having with the a/c veering out of control on takeoff. It took about two seconds to fix the problem after I tried your suggestion. I had also forgotten the a/c in "Fly!II" need a bit more control input when going done the runway, too.I am also going to take your advice and wait to do anything else with "Fly!II!" until after my ROTW CD arrives in the post with the rest of the patches, then I'll be up and running....Had a really similar problem with 2 a/c in MSFS 2002 which turned out to be something really minor, too.I installed 2 separate a/c, both Cessnas, one was a 207A Stationair, the other was a 177 "Cardinal." Turns out with the first a/c a line from the a/c .cfg file for the copilot's station/weight got dropped somehow, with the "Cardinal," a box for using separate rudder pedals was checked by default when it was installed.Once those two minor things were fixed, have'nt had any trouble since. The annoying thing was it just never occured to me to check, guess it's all part of the learning curve, huh???I actually meant "Fly!2K" and Fly!II" both when I was asking about add-on scenery in my last post.(I have both installed.)As a matter of interest,"Fly!2K" is basically "Fly!" which already came pre-patched to version 01.01.87.For some odd reason,it was only available in the US,which I only discovered after finding a copy on Amazon and had to get my Mom & Dad to post it to me here in the UK.I have'nt done anything with "Fly!" or "Fly!II" for at least the last year to 18 months,up until the last couple of weeks,so that's why I was'nt quite sure if the same situation applied as with MSFS 2002.I mean,I'm already starting to see less and less stuff released for it,and some of the stuff I've seen in the past on different file libraries has disappeared...Anyway,I'm glad to see there are still a lot of us around still taking an interest in the "Fly!" series. As I said before, hopefully it will spark some new developments for them in the future. Thanks again for helping me out of a hole,it was driving me nuts!Best Regards,"Devil 505"Joe D
  13. Hello Again....1)Roger, thanks for that, will give it a go when I get in from work tonight, will let you all know if it works.Like I said before, it's bound to be something simple which I overlooked in my befuddled state. Also,I've got the "ROTW Fly!2" DVD coming from France, which will make it a lot easier to patch everything up.Since it's basically all on one CD,then I won't have to go fishing thru all my old CD's to look for my "Fly!" ones with aircraft/scenery/patches.Is there much freeware scenery around still for "Fly!"??2)Mapman-oops,sorry for not making that abbreviation clear. It just means "aircraft." Got used to using things like that when I was in the Air Force, forget sometimes everybody may not be familiar with a particular one.(Was'nt a pilot or on flying status,though...)Thanks again guys, will let you know soonest if that fixes the problem.Although I'm off all weekend, we're busy painting/fixing up,etc.,etc.,in preparation for our move back to the States from the United Kingdom (KTVC or KDTW area, maybe the Upper Peninsula)so I may not get a chance to "fiddle" until Sunday. Best Regards,"Devil 505"Joe D
  14. Hello All!!!Yes,I still use "Fly!," "Fly!2K," and "Fly!2," well, I just reinstalled after a short break, hopefully the continuing interest will spark some new developments....Best Regards,"Devil 505"Joe D
  15. Hello All!!! (Again!)I reinstalled "Fly!2" last night after reinstalling "Fly!2k" the night before that.Anyway,I noticed something with "Fly!2" I thought was strange, hoped one of you can shed some light on...I noticed after you select your a/c, "Fly!2" finishes loading, and the a/c then appears on the active runway, as you accelerate up to take off speed, the a/c will veer off to one side of the runway. If you manage to get airborne,it will veer to one side, almost like an aileron is stuck, will not respond to control stick input, then augurs in and crashes....I've got the "European" version, but have'nt patched it up, yet, so I'm not sure if that's part of the problem or not...I seem to remember having this problem when I had "Fly!2" installed before, but don't remember what I did to fix it.Bearing in mind I did the install after getting home from work late at night,it's probably something really simple I'm overlooking.Figured I better quit, go to bed and get some sleep or I'd have been up all night with it!Thanks to all who responded to my previous post where I asked about where to get the "ROTW Fly!2" DVD and help with the mixture lever problem on the Beech Bonanza.Any help or light any of you can shed on this will be greatly appreciated.Best Regards,"Devil 505"Joe D
