I find the trick to VATSIM is look for events: http://forum.vatusa....hp?act=calendarFor example, in the US (and sometimes Canada) there is typically an event most Friday and Saturday nights and most Sunday afternoons. If you contact an ARTCC well ahead of time and let them know your VA would like to have a fly-in, they will do what they can to accommodate you.

With the popularity of VATSIM, many other networks have tried, but often fail to attract pilots.Sure VATSIM may have some weakness, but overall it is a great network with a huge following that will be very difficult for new networks to overcome.
