Real world weather locks sim

Featured Replies

I have just reinstalled FS2004 after removing it to clear some bad add-in panels. Now when I select real-world weather the hour glass appears and stays. The sim program is locked from then on, but not the PC.I used RW weather most of the time with the previous install. So I don't think there is any other problem causing this. Would anyone know why this might be?I have reinstalled once again to see if it can be cleared that way, but it is still the same.ThanksNigel

I am experincing simlair problems, and have been for quite a while.I also get a rather nasy problem with the menus at the top of the screen dispaeraing if I set the speed to 8x about 6 or so times and then set it back to normal speed, which Locks the sim.I know my PC is ok, everything else works fin and to be hones I dont install much on this pc as I use it for FSim.Jason

Well as far as the real world weather goes, with the help of someone else who had the problem. It seems in our cases the firewall ZoneAlarm was giving us problems. Maybe since a very recent update to ZA, it wasn't prompting to allow (or not) FS2004 to connect to the Net for the weather. So, for me, I found after a while that Flight Simulator did appear on the programs list in ZA but without any permission. I manually assigned it full access including Server and it now connects.I don't have much to offer on your menus problem. I don't change the speed so maybe I haven't seen it. I can only suggest it soundd like a display issue only and would suggest that you double check that you have the latest graphics drivers and card updates from the manufacturer.Nigel
