I have WinZip 8.0 and download library files. Those files often have a readme that says enable "folder options" to automatically put files in the correct place.My question is how do I do this as no such command appears in WinZip help and mine does not do this as currently set. I put files in folders manually having unzipped to a new folder on the desktop.I realise that everyone else in the world has this sorted.

Chris,If you open a .zip archive and click the "Extract" button, on the bottom-left of the Extract-window there is a checkbox "Use folder names".Rob

Rob,It doesn't work for me!Let me tell you what I am doing & hopefully you can tell me where to stop being stupid.1. I download a file and save it to the desktop.2. Double left click on the desktop icon which takes me to an opening "WinZip" small screen "Welcome to WinZip Wizard". I single click "next"3. Brings up "what do you want to do" screen. I highlight "unzip or install" & click next.4. Brings up "select folder screen" I select a folder & click "unzip now".At no stage of this process do I have any option that I can see which includes anything about "use folder names". I have looked in all the alternative buttons but still can't see this option anywhere.Chris

Chris,I see; you are using the socalled "user-friendly" (????) Wizzard mode in which you obviously don't have this option.When you open Winzip, click on the button "Winzip Classic".Now you have all the options I hope.Rob

Ah!! The light it doth shine!!!Thanks for that. I gradually turn Wizards off in everything as they never help in the end.

Ah yes wizards, the work of the devil :D Alot of times it confuses more then inlightens lol :)
