Mark,I lied when I said that I wouldn't bother you any longer. My hinting to another reinstallemet is that in the new version the game stops signaling an error and if I want to report it to Microsoft. The trouble happens invariably when trying to change the screen setup, say fom full to reduced Windows screen or when trying to access the top menu (World, etc),and after a considerable time on the game.Apart from this,if I investigate why,it blames two files:FS2002fs2002dw.cfg and FS2002dxdiag.txt.These are to files full of instructions, including screen instructions.Needless to say I've never seen this problem before.By the way,NO viking helmet equipped with horns has ever been found,it's a myth.Heill ok saell.Viking

<<<<>>>>Dear Lord of the LongshipsThat is a standard Microsoft "hungapp" message. Those two files are simply files created by the system to list the status of the files active within FS at the time of the crash; the theory is that if MS look at them, they could helpfully tell you why your sim stopped. However, IMHO the whole idea of sending them the error message is a "feelgood" ploy; it's about as useful a manoeuvre as giving Senokot to an elephant with diarrhea. You'll never hear from them. What would be useful if you could check, when that happens, the first message; without it being in front of me, I can't remember exactly what it says, but it's something like "find out why" or "click here to find out more". It will list ONE file as being the problem; this is before it refers to the two you mention which are simply the useless reports I discuss above. If you can tell me what this ONE error message says, we might get somewhere with the problem. Do this before you do the whole reinstall thing again, because that might not be your problem.Hell'n core!Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

OK Mark,I'll make a note of what the message says.To me it looks as if the graphic system, possibly,is struggling when asked to change from on shape to another.Even when it behaves it takes an awful long time to do the job.Thanks.Viking
