SBuilder Mesh Problem

Featured Replies

Hello guysI have a problem trying to make a Mesh terrain with SBuilder, the mesh isn't showing up in FS :unsure:Loaded it with Tmfviewer, I think it looks finemeshproblem.jpgAnd loaded with FSmeshproblem2.jpgI don't know but looking at the lake, the FS isn't showing the same mesh that showed the Tmfviewer, only the default lake :( I downloaded the .HGT files from this sitehttp://dds.cr.usgs.gov/srtm/version1/South_America/The Mesh is from Valencia, Venezuela, Here the BGL, INF and the BSQ file: http://uploading.com/files/c66b7b1a/meshfiles.zip/Help pleaseJuan

What is it that you're looking for? Mesh is only elevation data, nothing else. If you are expecting it to redraw the shape of the lake, that's not what mesh does.

Opsss you're right meshman, thank you for the explanation :biggrin:A very rare issue after created and compiled the mesh with SBuilder, I got two big holesmesh1.jpgMaybe it's because of this two red wine spots in the Meshmap, because they're in the same location where the holes aresbuilderspots.jpgI don't know why those spots appears and don't know how to fix it, I downloaded the HGT files from http://dds.cr.usgs.gov/srtm/version1/South_America/ and converted them to BSQ and BMP using the SBuilder converter tools

Those are voids, Juan. The hgt files do not have any information at all for those spots, no altitude information, so when you compile them, those empty spots are displayed by FS at its default value for voids, which is -32768 feet (2 to the 15th power). You must use some method to fill those empty areas. There are ways to interpolate values from the surrounding area, and fill with that. This will not give you accurate results, but at least you will eliminate the holes.Try FSDEM 1.1 by Emerson de Oliveira. You can find it in the Avsim library athttp://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=51976It works well with hgt files. Just load, interpolate voids, eliminate values that are too low or too high, and also immediately compile to bgl, although if you want an FS X bgl, you may have to compile by hand.Best regards.Luis

Hi Luis, thank you for your reply ^_^Already downloaded the FSDEM, I'll test it

Hi Luis, already tested the FSDEM, looks very easy, but I don't know how to save the .HGT file after filling the voids because the only options to save is to save the file as a .HGX file or a .BMP fileHelp please

Problem solved, I used the SRTMFill and it filled the voids :(
