April 16, 201115 yr Hi,I'm using an older Microsoft Sidewider joystick, and using Windows Vista. I recently had my computer sent in for minor video card repair work, and when I got it back, the joystick was no longer being detected. Reboots haven't helped, it's not showing up in the game controllers panel, and no matter how many times I replug it in within various ports, it's not detecting anything being plugged in. The joystick was working just fine before the computer was sent in, anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
April 16, 201115 yr You might want to use USB Deview to check the status of your USB devices and request the drvers be reloaded and the port reconfigured.Cheers,- jahman.

April 16, 201115 yr You can unplug your device and plug-it back in, then click on the time of last connection column to sort your USB devices by, er, time of last connection, and you will find it PDQ.Then you can add your device(s) to the list (the pages for viewing/adding new USB devices are currently INOP, try Monday), and download the new list once it's been updated (usually Sunday evenings UK time). Cheers,- jahman.
April 16, 201115 yr Author Did just that, and it's still not even showing a change. It's like there's nothing telling the computer something is plugged in there.
April 19, 201115 yr Try to reinstall the drivers. It might work. Otherwise, try the stick on another computer. If it doesn't work there, your stick coincidentally might have broke down.
April 20, 201115 yr It is possible that the USB plugs themselves are loose inside the machine. Try using some other USB device (like a flash drive) to see if they are recognized. If not, then it is likely that while your computer was under repair, they left the USB car or header loose.
