Stock install on New Computer

Featured Replies

Just finished setting up a new i7 system with all the best hardware and Win 7 with FSX and Acceleration. It is bone stock and only has one add-on aircraft. Have setup FPS Limiter, nVidia inspector with correct settings, and Bojote’s FSX.CFG. We are getting 100 to 150 fps without the FPS Limiter and 30 FPS with it running. Flying over water I see large square tiles with incorrect water textures showing. Changing the sliders in the water section has no effect. I have been using FS since BAO and am very familiar with settings, tweaks, and all of the other attempts to make FS run better. However on a brand new system with the latest parts running nothing but FSX in stock trim leads me to believe that I have done something that is not compatible with the four core system. Any suggestions or previous experience with this situation would be a welcome relief as this computer is quite a distance at a friend’s house and he is not very computer savvy at eighty six years of age. Although I am seventy two myself. Thanks, fisheye

How were the textures before you applied your tweaks?I seem to recall having this issue with Bojote’s FSX.CFG, thus why I don't use it.
