April 26, 201115 yr It's a texture problem after tampering with the .cfg file of the simulator. Did you recently make any changes in the cfg file in the textures section ? Check for the 'TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT' string in your cfg file. Once found, change the value to approximately 400. DO NOT keep it at 40 or below 40. Cheers,Karan
April 26, 201115 yr Author Thx for reply,my fs9.cfg is untouched all the time, it's tweaked, value is 400. This happened also on my old pc configuration as well on the new one.To remove whiteout I have to make topdown view, than back and it disappears, or whan I clim higher than it fixes itself. It's very annoying especially during final approach.Thx for any suggestion.Rado Rado i7 4770K@4,1Ghz HT on since release of MSFS1080 Ti 11GB 32GB DDR3 RAMSamsung SSDs
April 26, 201115 yr Are you using any 3rd party add on to replace existing textures in flight simulator ? This sort of thing, as I've learned from others, happens when the system is not able to transfer the texture load files to the GPU in time and causes a delay. What about a flight at night ? Do your runway lights, etc appear as blocks as well ? If so, then its definitely missing or has corrupt texture sets in your simulator folder. Make sure your video drivers are up to date. Anything that you might have added/deleted/replaced in your simulator recently ? It could be causing problems and we might just be going to big solutions here that aren't necessary. If all else fails, a clean replacement of your textures from your Flight Simulator 2004 CD should do the trick. Cheers,Karan
April 27, 201115 yr Author Hello Jim,I'm using download weather, yesterday I tried to download the historical weather from day when whiteout occured, I recreated exactly the same condition, but whiteout didn't occur, in ASE I disabled visibility graduation and smoothing.Do you think it might be related to this?Anyway, thx for interest.I'm using FS2004 with Win 7 64bit, well maintained system, always fresh drivers, etc...I don't have issues with my sim at all, except of this one, once in the time.Rado Rado i7 4770K@4,1Ghz HT on since release of MSFS1080 Ti 11GB 32GB DDR3 RAMSamsung SSDs
April 27, 201115 yr Hi,No, that has nothing to do with this. What has caused this in the past is when the dewpoint is higher than the temperature, FS doesn't know what to do and the whitout is the result. Seeing that the DP should never be higher then the temp. we have put a filter in place to make sure this doesn't ever happen.
