May 13, 201115 yr I have a two computer setup, one with XP Pro 64bit, the other with XP Pro 32bit operating systems. On my primary 64bit unit, I decided that I wanted a clean desktop and would just disable the desktop icons display and include those choices only in my bottom toolbar. However, I discovered that I did not have that option on this system in spite of the following instructions being included in the search and help instructions. In my 32bit system one can right click on the desktop, move the curser over "Arrange Icons By" and either check or uncheck "Show Desktop Icons" to have the Icon shortcuts displayed or hidden on the desktop display. Under "Arrange Icons By" the "Show Desktop Icons" option is not included on the 64bit system. Is this provision negated in the Win XP Pro 64bit system, or am I overlooking it somewhere? Thanks:RTHEdit: Found a neat third party program for this purpose. Download "Desktop Control Center", unzip it and click on the execution file.http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/software
