Wide Screen View with Mulitple windowed views?

Featured Replies

Hi All,I am using 3 - 23" Acers @1920 x 1080 and running them with a GTX 580 & a GTX 240. I have a couple of questions. First, when I elect to place 3 separate windowed views in place (one on each monitor - undocked) and I have configured the WideAspectView to "true" in the fsx cfg file, the main view (view 0) shows the wide screen view but the two other views on each of the side monitors do not. Each of the two side views (views 01 & 02) can be dragged to fit the surface of each of the side monitors but they do not appear to display the "WideAspectView" that the main monitor and its view do. I do not own Triple Head 2 go. Any way of getting all three views to become "wide screen" views?Second, When I set up fsx as follows:1. Open the selected flight on the main monitor2. Select "views / new view / cockpit / virtual cockpit / undock window" and then move that view to one of the side monitors3. Perform (2) above and move the third window to the other side monitor4. Select "views / full screen"Perform the above with the WideAspectView set to either "true" or "false".Fsx goes to "full screen' mode and the main view (view 0) spreads over the entire main monitor (wide screen). The other two views also go to "full screen" mode but they will not spread over the entire surface of each of the side monitors (also wide screen monitors). The aspect of both of the side views appears to be designed to fill a standard monitor, not a wide screen monitor. When I try to drag the windows to fill out those other two monitors the windows will not spread wide enough to fill those screens. Any suggestions? Thanks!John

Hi John,First, go to Windows, display properties and check all 3 monitors show max resolution, ie 1920x1080.next, go into FSX >display>general. I'm assuming you have 2 monitors connected to 580 and one to 240.using the 'Device' drop down tab you should see 2 instances of the 580 and one of the 240. select each one in turn and from the list below, make sure all 3 available monitors in display, are showing the same resolution, ie. 1920x1080x32.this can be checked in FSX.CFG with 2 entries for 580, ie, #1 and #2 and also 240. the resolution can be checked there, wide aspect must be set to true.try using ALT+ENTER to switch all screens to 'full screen', once you have set up windowed positions.Ron.
