Thats because its like that in real life? Rivers erode the banks and it carves a steep bank like that, atleast in a river in its beginning state.

Heh I can tell you that its not like that in the Netherlands in real life! ;-)

Most of the rivers in the netherlands must be old rivers then, which run wildly along the earth... So its like that in the netherlands on FS2004... call microsoft and tell them.

That's the way FS2004 does it. Most rivers are lower than the surrounding terrain. If you fly a 737, why does it matter, you shouldn't be that low anyway? ;-)
