Virtual Cockpit Seems to slow fps for all views

Featured Replies

I run Flight Simulator 2004 v9.1 locked at 29 fps. This is pretty constant through out my game, even at the most complex addon scenery and busiest airports. The only thing seeming to slow down my performance is the virtual cockpits. I have noticed this on the, Wilco ERJ170-190, LDS 767, PMDG 737, and the QWS 757. When I switch to the vc's on these aircraft my fps generally goes to about 17-22. Even when I switch back to Spot view my fps will still act like I am in the vc still staying at 17-22. I need to alt tab and come back into spot view when the game pops up to get the fps back to 28-30. Is there a settings I could change or is this just a result of the quality of the vs's that are in these packages?Flight Simulator Settings:All on high.Resolution: 1900x1080 32bit Full screen=1FS2004 Is run as an Administrator with compatibility as Windows XP SP2.Nvidia Control Panel:All set to performance, except AA overrides FS9 to x8. Plus Vertical Sync is forced on with Threaded Optimization on.System Specs:Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.9GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM Hard Drive: 1 TB Seagate Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce EVGA GTX 465 Superclocked (Custom Clock to: Core clock-797, Memory clock-1810) with EVGA Precision) Monitor: LG FLATRON E2350V Sound Card: VIA High Definition Audio Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100618-1621) Motherboard: ASUS P5RD1-VM

I do have Active Camera 2.1 installed with Internal View Enabled as well. Forgot to mention this in the first post.

I had the same problem with the QW 757 - absolutely terrible framerates in VC. Then I read on their forum that you need to uninstall it, and then reinstall under "Administrator." Right click on the installation icon and it will give you the option to "run as administrator" and it will reinstall it. I was very skeptical and couldn't imagine why that would make a difference but it did - a HUGE difference.VC will always have some FPS hit but with LevelDn I have never had a problem. I don't have the other products you mentioned but the FeelThere/Wilco 737 PIC does have a significant FPS hit on my system. There is probably something else going on though - with the specs of your system you shouldn't have any problem running any of those products in VC

Yes. I did install the Quality Wings 757 as an Administrator. Maybe the Flight Simulator Engine that renders the VC, and the gauge bitmaps can't handle the resolution I have?
