May 28, 201115 yr Greetings all. I'm new to this forum but wanted to share my build with everyone. I fly Flight1 Software's execllent Pilatus PC12 with FS2004 and wanted to build panels to substitute for mouse clicks (as do most of us here on this forum). I didn't need a full cockpit or digital displays, just the buttons and rotary switches. So, I programmed my own PIC microcontroller to interface the switches with the USB port of my PC, built the panels, and wrote a nice article folks might be interested in. Here is a photo of my panels in use: PC12 PanelsAlso, here is a link to the .pdf article I wrote. PC12 Panels.pdf It's a little over 2.2 MB but it's a pretty good read. Certainly if you have any questions or would like some clarification you can contact me at [email protected].I made many mistakes along the way, especially programming the USB descriptor, but hopefully this article will help someone else avoid the pitfalls and mistakes I made.Enjoy,Roy
June 27, 201114 yr Hi Roy,Thanks for joining the forum. I've been away for seven years myself, but I am taking my cockpit out of mothballs and reactivating it. No small task, let me tell you.Things seem a little quieter here than I remember, but I'm glad to see it's still active.I think your work is GREAT!And to take the time and document your work for others is very much appreciated; I can only imagine how long it took to document it. I've saved your PDF and will use it as I build my next project, the flight deck. Keep up the great work and keep sharing!Take care
