ASE not finding airports

Featured Replies

Hi all,I've recently pruchased a new computer due to my old one dying - I've encountered some problems while trying to use ASE...When I start FS and load up at an airport ASE isn't sending weather to the sim - Also, on the main screen the 'lock to closest' is displaying an airport nowhere near me (KSEA) when I'm at (GCTS) I've tried installing ASE again numerous times but nothing seems to work. I've even tried the C:/ASE method, but still that doesn't work. Heres the message I am getting from ASE and also my specs.[quoute]02:20 - ASE load commencing...02:20 - Verifying Active Sky Evolution License02:20 - FS9 Path Value = C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\02:20 - FS9 My AppData Path Value = C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9\02:20 - FS9 My Docs Path Value = C:\Users\xxxxx\Documents\Flight Simulator Files\02:20 - ASE settings have been loaded...02:20 - Initializing ASE02:20 - FS station database update not needed (unchanged)...02:20 - World Magnetic Model has been loaded...02:20 - Wx Station Database loaded: 10463 station(s)02:20 - Airports Database loaded...02:20 - Loading Additional Weather Stations...02:20 - FSUIPC (version 3.9.9) found and initialized02:20 - ASE controls initialized...02:20 - ASE v12.0.0.566 Copyright © 2010 HiFi Technologies, Inc., all rights reserved.02:20 - ASE Module has been loaded02:20 - Main Background Wx Engine process has been started02:20 - Sim Interface queue process has been started02:20 - Online automatic download thread has been started02:20 - Random element generation thread has been started02:20 - Voice playback thread has been started02:20 - Virtual station generation thread has been started02:20 - 3 voice sets activated...02:20 - Wake sample and synthesis thread has been started02:20 - Imagery processing thread started02:20 - Thermal Data Loaded: 5 items02:20 - Downloading global weather data for 29/05/2011 01:20:49 (01Z) from Primary Server...02:20 - Start Download Content License Result Check02:20 - Finished Download Content License Result Check in 1.0001 ms02:20 - Start Download File Output02:20 - Saving weather to disk02:20 - Finished Download File Output in 2.0001 ms02:20 - Start Decrypt/Decompress02:21 - Finished Decrypt/Decompress in 6113.3496 ms02:21 - Download Binary Compress File Routine completed in 10557.6038 ms02:21 - Populating weather stream with new data...02:21 - Parsing line items02:21 - Download complete02:21 - Downloading Met/Rep data from Secondary Server...02:21 - Met/Rep Data Received...02:21 - Met/Rep Download complete02:21 - Weather synthesis thread has been started02:21 - Synthesis updated...02:21 - Weather injection thread has been started02:21 - VAS and thermal generation thread has been started02:21 - Data output thread has been started02:21 - Effects simulation thread has been started02:21 - Station data export completed02:21 - **** ASE Initial Weather Synthesis Complete! ****[/quoute]Specs:Windows 7 - 64bitAMD Athlon II X2 245 Processor 2.90GHz2GB RAMAny help would be appreciated.Sam

Hi,1. Please update ASE to B642.2. Have you installed FS outside of the Program Files folder? For Win 7 security reasons you should have done that.3. The log you posted is normal.4. With ASE and FS running is the weather theme automatically set to User Defined?Out of all of this, I would say that #2 is the most important, so if you don't have a lot of things installed yet, you should uninstall FS and re-install it outside of the Program Files path. Please let me know how you are doing with this situation.
