Save a mission from 'Missions" list...possible?

I was flying the carrier tutorial and during the flight it appeared I could save a mission (in other words, after just getting onto final to the carrier I went to 'flights', then 'save' and it appeared to work) but when I tried to find the flight, it was nowhere to be found...is it possible to save a flight like this?
