FSET Water Mask Problem II

Featured Replies

Hi all,After having read the other topic about the watermask issue when using Inkscape , I want to ask your help for a simular issue when using GE.It is working only half and the masking isn't working properly as can be seen on the screenshots.When moving over the scenery small area blocks appear/disappear. I have drawn to lines , each 2,0 wide.Names them Coast and DeepWater and saved them in the same AreaKML.kml file and put that one in the working folder.Here my AreaFSXMaskInfo....inf file :Destination]DestDir = D:\FSX\Addon Scenery\FSEarthTiles\sceneryDestBaseFileName = Area_Lp2_SnapOff_N051164182_N051102003_E002502696_E003011955BuildSeasons = 0UseSourceDimensions = 1CompressionQuality = 80[source]Type = MultiSourceNumberOfSources = 2[source1]Type = BMPLayer = ImagerySourceDir = D:\FSEarthTiles\workSourceFile = Area_Lp2_SnapOff_N051164182_N051102003_E002502696_E003011955.bmpLon = 2.84079551696777 ;for top left and bottom right is: 3.02209854125977Lat = 51.2783002853394 ;for top left and bottom right is: 51.1722135543823NumOfCellsPerLine = 6337 ;Pixel is not used in FSXNumOfLines = 4944 ;Pixel is not used in FSXCellXdimensionDeg = 2.86102294921875E-05CellYdimensionDeg = 2.14576721191406E-05PixelIsPoint = 0SamplingMethod = PointChannel_BlendMask = 2.0 ;red channel, (note:green channel is the grey-info)Channel_LandWaterMask = 2.2 ;blue channel[source2]Type = BMPLayer = NoneSourceDir = D:\FSEarthTiles\workSourceFile = AreaMask_Lp2_SnapOff_N051164182_N051102003_E002502696_E003011955.bmpLon = 2.84079551696777 ;for top left and bottom right is: 3.02209854125977Lat = 51.2783002853394 ;for top left and bottom right is: 51.1722135543823NumOfCellsPerLine = 6337 ;Pixel is not used in FSXNumOfLines = 4944 ;Pixel is not used in FSXCellXdimensionDeg = 2.86102294921875E-05CellYdimensionDeg = 2.14576721191406E-05PixelIsPoint = 0SamplingMethod = PointAnd here my AreaFSInfo....inf file :[Destination]DestDir = D:\FSX\Addon Scenery\FSEarthTiles\sceneryDestBaseFileName = Area_Lp2_SnapOff_N051164182_N051102003_E002502696_E003011955BuildSeasons = 0UseSourceDimensions = 1CompressionQuality = 80[source]Type = CustomSourceDir = D:\FSEarthTiles\workSourceFile = Area_Lp2_SnapOff_N051164182_N051102003_E002502696_E003011955.bmpLon = 2.84079551696777 ;for top left and bottom right is: 3.02209854125977Lat = 51.2783002853394 ;for top left and bottom right is: 51.1722135543823NumOfCellsPerLine = 6337 ;Pixel is not used in FSXNumOfLines = 4944 ;Pixel is not used in FSXCellXdimensionDeg = 2.86102294921875E-05CellYdimensionDeg = 2.14576721191406E-05PixelIsPoint = 0SamplingMethod = PointAnd in the fSET.ini file CreateAreaMasks is set to Yes.Help is appriciated.

Unfortunately, to my eye, everything looks OK. But it's been so long since I've used GE with FSET that my opinion doesn't mean much. I've forgotten most of what I knew at one time. Hopefully someone else will be able to pick up on something.Rich

I wonder if it has something to do with the sharp, narrow indentation for the river. As an experiment, if not too much trouble, you might want to try a mask that cuts straight across the top and see what happens. Again, it's been a long, long time since I've used any of this. So that's simply a WAG on my part.Rich

I got it to work !Simple, by not using 1x mid or 1x high water.Using 1x low and all 2x waters show the scenery like it should.

So it was the FSX water setting that was causing the oddity?Rich
