I have just begun training for my PPL at our local airport. My solo is approaching so I thought I would practice on FS2004. I became a little frustrated since I was not able to practice side slips exactly as my instructor demonstrated since the default Cessna behaves much different than its real life counterpart. Crosswind landings are especially different in reality than in FS2004 as well. Then I read on this board that a group called RealAir had made a significant improvement to the Cessna which real pilots claimed was on the mark. I tried it and the difference was amazing. Very close to the real thing.I have been simming since FS95 and my recent flight training experience has really humbled me. FS is great for learning patterns, cockpit familiarization, and basic ATC education but the flight models are very primitive. RealAir has changed that for the 172 however.So... I was wondering if there are the same upgrades for the other default aircraft. I never fly the airliners since I believe that they are way beyond the scope of this sim. The DC3 is as big as I will go. But the default Lear is the best it has ever been in FS2004. Unfortunately, the flight model is as simplistic as the other defaults though. Has anyone reworked it to as close to reality as the RealAir C172?Thanks,Quagmire

Again, I won't rehash what I've always said about using flight sim for traning purposes. But.... I will say that Real Air Sims 172 is outstanding per MSFS standards. If you're training for your PPL in a 172 this is as good as you can do. The DF 152 is also very good. But if you're looking for something else, at the risk of offending other developers, anything from Steve Small is going to be good as gold. The best of his work is payware, worth it though. Hopefully, FSD will revamp the fsd twin prop enhancement for us [which was freeware for the Baron and the King Air](hint hint--we'll all beg if he wants us to. I will anyway). Hope you got soemthing useflu out of this. Good luck on your solo!!! You'll be amazed how well it goes!!! Let us know.
