July 2, 201114 yr I am flying australia... I know it is hot around some places but anybody else notice this, or do I interpret it wrong..
July 2, 201114 yr Jeez, I didn't know that thing even worked! Mine was much lower than that flying from the US Northeast to Southern Ontario (Canada), so it must be doing something. Somebody didn't use it as a personal thermometer by any chance, did they ? Anyway, mine registered somewhere around 20C so this is a bit unusual. If you had a weather program running at the time, I wonder if it was getting a bad reading from the nearby station?

July 2, 201114 yr Just to let you know, I did a flight this afternoon and watched the OAT pretty closely, while comparing that with the weather observations on FSMeteo. It was pretty much a dead match, so it does seem to work as it should. I suspect what you got was either a missing temperature or a corrupt reading from the site (or, a 'roo was sitting on it just before you took off <LOL> - more likely one of the first two possibilities :(). Anyway, keep and eye on it and see what happens, but if you find it's out very often and are using a 3rd party weather program, check what you are seeing against it. If there's no temperature reported in the METAR, chances are the gauge will default high or low.
