July 4, 201114 yr Inside of the interior continental USA I have no waves after installing Ultimate Terrain X. Outside of this area and throughout the rest of the world, I have plenty of waves. Two or three years ago I tried to correct this by following all of the posted advice I could find at that time with no success and finally gave up. Seeing that there were a couple of new patches I had not installed yet as well as new postings, I decided to give it another try. What I am seeing:1. Flight from Vancouver to Seattle: Flying along the Pacific Coast is fine with ample waves displayed. However, as you move inland into the bays, they disappear somewhere just east of a line along 4wa5 Miller's Field to WA93 Eliza Island airport. On the RXP GNS530, the waves disappear in the area displayed as one progresses through the passage between Portage Island and Lumni Island onward to Eliza Island and then entering what I assume are the outskirts of Puget Sound.2. KSFO: No waves in the bay area, but entering the Pacific again, plenty of waves.3. Myrtle Beach Area: No waves on inlet waters, but plenty as the Atlantic is entered.4. KBOS: Same thing. No waters in the bay, plenty in the ocean.5. KGLS, Scholes Field, Galveston: Probably the best example. Flying up and down Galveston Bay, no waves. Entering the Gulf at the SW end of Galveston Island, or flying around Pelican Island to the NE and entering the Gulf, plenty of waves kick in.6. KORD, Chicago, Ohara: No waves in Lake Michigan. What I have already done in the past:1. 1-11-08: Installed Patch "UtxUsaAccel.exe".2. 2-14-08: Installed Patch "UtxUsaV11Patch.exe".3. 2-14-08: Installed Patch "UtxUsaV12Patch.exe".4. 4-23-09: Installed Patch "UtxUsaV13.exe".5. 4-23-09: Installed Patch "UtxUsaV131Patch.exe".What I did today:1. 7-4-11: Installed Patch "UtxUsaV14.exe".2. 7-4-11: Installed Patch "UtxUsaV15.exe".3. As recommended in an old thread with a recommendation for older versions, made sure that the line item "Effect=wavecontroller" was included in my terrain.cfg file found as follows:[Texture.440]Name=UT_OCEAN_SANDguid={C216CC56-1EF8-4214-90E1-82019E64B0A7}Textures=UTSandCoast.bmp,UTSandCoastHW.bmp,UTSandCoast.bmp,UTSandCoast.bmp,UTSandCoast.bmp,UTSandCoast_LM.bmpLayout=3_PLUS_4StripWidthMeters=40FlattenMode=noneFlattenPriority=41000LandClassRemapType=noneExcludeAutogen=YesRenderToTexture=YesRenderPriority=90000Effect=wavecontrollerWater=No[Texture.441]Name=UT_OCEAN_ROCKguid={AB4D08D9-DA6A-40a7-BA88-648BD4CAEC34}Textures=UTROCK.BMP,UTROCK.BMP,UTROCK.BMP,UTROCK.BMP,UTROCK.BMP,UTROCK_LM.BMPLayout=3_PLUS_4StripWidthMeters=40FlattenMode=noneFlattenPriority=41000LandClassRemapType=noneExcludeAutogen=YesRenderToTexture=YesRenderPriority=90000Effect=wavecontrollerWater=No 4. Although I do not have "Bojote's Shader 3 mod" installed, I tried the edit recommended relative to that topic posted in another thread. I edited my "WaterConstants.xml" file, line item <fTimeScale2>0.050</fTimeScale2> to be <fTimeScale2>-0.306</fTimeScale2>.5. Nothing changed and I still had no waves, so I edited back to the original entry (0.050 rather than -0.306).Any new ideas? Everything else is fine, I just have no waves on any waters inside UTX.System specs. are as follow:Respectfully:RTHPrimary Computer:ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 LGA 1366 Intel ATX MotherboardIntel Core i7-975 Extreme Quad Core CPUScythe SY124010L CPU Fan6GB (3x2GB) 240 Pin DDR3 1600 OCZ3P1600LV6GK MemoryWinXP Pro 64 BitEVGA 01G-P3-1180-AR GeForce GTX 285 1GB 512 bigt DDR3 Video Graphics Card24" Viewsonic VA2431wm LCD Primary Monitor24" Viewsonic VA2431wm LCD Secondary MonitorNvidia version 270.61 drivers for GTX 285 Video Card1 Western Digital Velco/Raptor WD3000HLFS 300 GB 10000RPM WATA 3 GB System Harddrive1 Western Digital Velco/Raptor WD3000HLFS 300 GB 10000RPM WATA 3 GB FSX Harddrive1 each Segate 320GB SATA FS9 Harddrive1 each Segate 320GB SATA Backup / Utility HarddriveStd. July 5, 201114 yr Author Thanks to Jeff on another Forum for pointing out my oversight in overlooking the provisions in the latest patches."Are you only adding the "Effect=wavecontroller" line manually to the two entries in the Terrain.cfg? If that is the case then you only have waves for those two UTX coastline features. Now you don't need to edit the Terrain.cfg manually to add waves, just use the UTX Setup tool to do it for you. You can enable large or small waves for the various coastlines under the "Terrain->Change FS9 Style Wave Effects" menu option. As well as doing that you must make sure that you have the coastline textures themselves enabled in the right-hand feature tree."I now have waves everywhere I want them.Happy flying:RTH
