December 15, 200322 yr Robert Buysen, who is also the author of a beautiful freeware scenery of EBBR Brussels International, has just released a complete overhaul of his scenery of EBAW Antwerp (Deurne) airport. The scenery is a very realistic rendition of the regional airport of Antwerp. Antwerp is Belgium's second largest city and one the 5 largest ports in the world (although in FS9 the city looks as it did in the 18th century: no sign of any docks). Its central location makes it a nice starting point for flights to the Netherlands, Britain, Germany, France...Robert has completely redone and updated the scenery he published for FS2002. The attention to detail is amazing. Robert spent many hours photographing every building and rendering it truthfully in his scenery. Even the surrounding area has been beautifully done. When flying the ILS approach to runway 29, just before landing you'll pass over a fort which was part of a ring of forts around Antwerp from the Napoleontic era (early 1800's). That has also been beautifully rendered. He also gave much attention to optimising frame rates. This freeware scenery is a lot better than many payware products!Robert tried to upload it to Avsim, but that seems to have failed for some reason. He might give it another try later. In the mean time you can download the scenery from Robert's own website:http://users.pandora.be/robert.buysen.fs20...ages/page5.htmlor from the pages of Flight Simulator Club Belgium (which hosts a lot of other fine Belgian sceneries):http://www.fscb.be/Hit the 'Multimedia' button on the left and follow the link 'Scenery Belgium - Luxemburg' Sceneries in orange fields are made or adapted for FS2004.Paul
