July 25, 201114 yr Hi,I´m using ASE + XGraphics (my System: FSX, Nvidia GTX460, UTXEurope + GEXEurope). The Wheather Depiction at low altitude is pretty nice - but at higher altitudes i think that is boring.I see a bland accumulation of too little cumulus clouds side by side (my set is 20 cloudlayers and snapshot based on the actual flightplan is always installed).I´m missing the complete cloud cover situation at overcast conditions - what steps in typically a few minutes after take off - as known in real flights if you can see the cloud blanket till the end of the horizon and it is looking like an ocean. At the end of the horizon i never see the characteristic bank of clouds..? (visibility is set to 110 NM)At some times i have a sky flickering, the rivers and lakes are also flickering (see the 2 attachement pictures and look up to the sky at the upper middle border). And my last question: After installing a Snapshot the amount of the diskspace is going less. Where have i to delete the saved snapshots. (In FSX Mainfolder there are constantly 19 Snapshots installed).Would be glad if someone is helping me.RegardsWalter
July 25, 201114 yr Hi,What is your cloud draw distance set to in FSX? There is a limitation in FS as to how far clouds can be drawn. Is ASE reporting OVC or is it reporting a low visibility value. There will be a difference between these two.For the flickering, do not use Standard Depiction Mode in ASE.Yes, Snapshots are save groups of textures. Because you are using X Graphics for your texture program, you do not really need to use Snapshots at all. You can just use X Graphics.
July 26, 201114 yr Author Hi Mr. Jim,weak reply, or?my hope was to get an answer how to delete the snapshots from harddisk. (FSX_Main Directory, Snapshotfolder or Scenery Folder)!Cloud draw distance is set 110SM (as described earlier..!)ASE is reporting OVC in many different visibilities. i´m flying around 5 hours per day - and i never saw a complete cloud covered sky - or bank of clouds ending the horizon - maybe ASE can not depict such settings..??RegardsWalter Hi,What is your cloud draw distance set to in FSX? July 26, 201114 yr Hi,1. You said visibility was set to 110. That is why I asked what your cloud draw distance was set at. 110 miles will be the most that FS will draw clouds to and this is not because of ASE.2. Please post a screen shot of the ASE Report screen showing OVC conditions and then a screen shot from FSX at that same location.3. Delete Snapshots using the ASE Graphics screen. Highlight the Snapshot on the left, then use the Delete Selected icon at the bottom of the screen.
