How does RCWS work?

Featured Replies

Hello,I'm playing around with the MD-11 (FSX) and wonder how RCWS works. I enabled and disabled the option available under the menue, but hardly see a difference. From the documentation (Systems, page AUTO.10.5): With no force on the control wheel, the aircraft holds the current roll attitiude.Does it mean, that if I disable RCWS, the plane goes back into zero roll? Or does it symply not stabilize the bank angles and with this option turned off the pilot might have to correct manually? Thanks for your answers!Oliver

Since I would need to dig into this further to explain the functionality of Roll Control Wheel Steering, here's some stuff to read for you instead: --> http://www.pprune.or...p/t-375127.html--> http://www.freepaten...om/4460858.html I found something on airliners.net, but it seems that I'm not allowed to post an url of it. Just do a google-search on 'roll control wheel steering' and the 2nd search result should head you over there (last post of the thread) best regards, toby
